Marketing & Speical Events Coordinator – Capital Humane Society

Capital Humane Society is seeking candidates for a Marketing & Special Events Coordinator position. The Marketing & Special Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing fundraising and special events under the supervision and direction of the Director of Development and Executive Director. This position creates and distributes marketing content via various channels including social media. The full job description is available below.

Requirements:

  • A college degree or related experience is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a non-profit setting is desirable.
  • Ability to get along well with people and animals.
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate and work well with the public and co-workers. Must be comfortable speaking with donors, vendors, and sponsors via phone, email, Zoom, and face-to-face meetings.
  • This position requires computer literacy. The ability to use word processing software, spreadsheet software, and do data entry is required. Accuracy in spelling and the ability to compose documents and letters are essential. Familiarity with graphic design, including the use of Canva, is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license and be insurable by the Capital Humane Society’s insurance carrier.

Position is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and 8 hours per workday between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm. Regular schedule is Monday-Friday but does require flexible working hours, at times. Examples: Phonathon, special events, Tails & Trails, Tails & Ties, etc.

Position will be expected to spend time at all CHS facilities but will primarily work at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center.

This person’s personal conduct needs to be above average in all areas.

Presence at the job site is an essential element of this position.

Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. Benefits include health, life, dental, vision, and disability insurance, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, employee assistance program, and 401K retirement plan (after one year of employment).

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events including the Tails & Ties Annual Dinner, Tails & Trails Pet Walk & Festival, Tails & Tees Golf Tournament, and Tails & Treats Trunk or Treat.
  • Assist with Spring & Fall Phonathon events.
  • Create and execute additional fundraising and special events.
  • Develop marketing content to promote CHS’ mission, humane education, programs, services, etc. This content includes but is not limited to video, graphics, and print advertisements.
  • Create and send e-newsletters to CHS’ constituents.
  • Coordinate employee and volunteer merchandise store.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating donor database.
  • Prepare correspondence with donors including thank you acknowledgements.
  • Adhere to internal control policies and confidentiality requirements of CHS.
  • Attend special events on behalf of CHS including media appearances, as needed.
  • Participate in special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
