SUMMARY:Marketing Talks Roundtable with Nia Nielsen
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a casual\, freeform discussion focusing on the “Great Resignation”.\n\n\nNote: This is a casual discussion so bring your thoughts\, advice and questions! We will not provide food and beverages but you’re welcome to purchase them at the restaurant. \nThis event is limited to 16 participants so register early! \n  \nThey’re dubbing it the Great Resignation. With nearly 3.9 million Americans calling it quits in June\, it’s safe to say people are not just peeking their head over the figurative fence to see if the grass is greener on the other side. \nCouple this with the widely spread adage that marketers tend to move jobs more frequently than the average employee\, makes this topic incredibly relevant to the world we find ourselves navigating. \nJoin us for a casual\, freeform discussion with human resource\, advertising and marketing professionals. We’ll talk about where to find marketers\, our favorite position-specific questions to ask in job interviews to test a candidate’s marketing chops and finally\, how to keep marketers happy. \nBio \nNia Nielsen is Director of Marketing at the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools. She draws on her varied experiences both in nonprofit and for-profit marketing. \nHer early background focused on integrating digital platforms with marketing initiatives. Nielsen has strategized user experience for over 40 private and public websites and developed online communities around numerous brands. Skills include meshing social media strategies with organizational goals\, objectives\, mission and vision; SEO and online content management; and optimizing promotional pieces to drive traffic to online. \nIn her current role\, Nielsen develops creative solutions to business problems\, blending the art and science of marketing through research\, strategic planning and branding. \nNielsen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her favorite topics to present on include: problem solving and creativity. She is a former Lincoln Chapter American Marketing Association president\, Marketer of the Year awardee and Dorothy B. Clark recipient. \nWhen she’s not reading up on everything shifting to virtual events and figuring out how to blend the latest trends into current marketing strategies\, you can find Nia hanging out with her husband and four children. \nMask Policy \nMasks not required\, but encouraged if you aren’t fully vaccinated. This policy may change based on local DHM and venue policies.
