SUMMARY:UNL Chapter Event: Mentorship Mixer
DESCRIPTION:Explore AMA’s mentorship program through networking with students. \nAre you interested in becoming a mentor to a marketing student? Do you have a desire to “pay it forward” to future marketers? Are you interested in scoping out future interns/employees? \nJoin us for a Mentorship Mixer organized by the UNL student chapter and explore AMA’s mentorship program. The mixer will consist of snacks\, activities\, a short presentation\, and opportunities to network with local students! You do not need to commit to mentoring a student to participate in this event—the purpose of this meeting is to gauge interest. \nInvolvement in the program will be discussed at the mixer. In short\, AMA’s mentorship program will include two events and two meet-ups each year\, with the flexibility for pairs to choose their level of involvement as they wish. \nLocation: Room 112 in the UNL College of Business. Additionally\, mentors can park in any A lot after 3pm without getting a ticket! \nUnable to make the event but still interested in becoming a mentor? Email membership@amalincoln.org \n\n\n\n

Geared towards nonprofits\, but open to anyone 🙂 \nDescription \nThe last quarter of the year is often the busiest time for donations. \nLet’s chat about ways to maximize your marketing efforts during the giving season (even if you don’t have a plan in place). \nTogether\, we’ll dive into questions like: \n\nWhat data should I look at from last year?\nShould my campaign have a theme?\nWhat does using “you language” even mean?\nDoes my donation page need a spit shine?\nShould my org be a part of Giving Tuesday?\nDo I have the right mix of online and offline asks?\nHow can I engage my board in giving season?\n\nSpeaker Bio \nTo say Kelley Peterson is a nonprofit marketing guru is an understatement. She makes a habit out of combining her marketing expertise with her passion for helping great causes craft impactful messaging to meet their brand and fundraising goals. \nHere are a few hats she’s worn over the last 22 years – director of communications for CEDARS\, vice president of marketing at Nebraska Children & Families Foundation and chief creative officer at KidGlov. \nKelley has also served on multiple nonprofit boards\, including being a two-time president of the local American Marketing Association chapter and president of the national AMA Professional Chapters Council. \nRecently\, Kelley founded Pen&Pug – a new business offering marketing strategy\, creative writing\, and nonprofit fundraising services. When she’s not busy putting her pen to work\, Kelley enjoys spending time with her family\, teaching a class at UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications\, and managing her famous pug Chub’s dog-influencer career.

SUMMARY:Signature Speaker: Behind the Content Marketing Curtain
DESCRIPTION:Learn how (and why) to align time and people to maximize content marketing’s effectiveness.\n\n\nSignature Speaker: Behind the Content Marketing Curtain \n \nDESCRIPTION: \nDid you know that brands with a documented content marketing strategy are four times more confident in reporting an ROI? But less than half of marketing departments actually have one (21%\, in one B2B sector)? \nContent marketing can be a spiraling\, costly marketing approach without alignment of goals\, timing\, and constituents. So while unsuccessful brands obsess about email subject lines and video length in LinkedIn posts\, the winning brands move the needle with strategy\, planning\, and measuring the right outcomes. \nPut an end to your content marketing theater and focus on the three areas that can actually return value: Strategy\, Aligning Time and People\, and Business Results-Based Measurements. \n \nKEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\nTakeaway an actionable\, one-page approach to content marketing strategy that will change your approach the next day.\nStrip away the toxicity of data theater and focus on measurements that actually reflect business results.\nLearn how (and why) to align time and people to maximize content marketing’s effectiveness.\n\nSPEAKER BIO: \nHaving studied music\, English lit\, and earned an MBA\, Aaron Templer is an unapologetic eclectic and times agitator. A 25-year marketing leader\, he is a marketing firm owner Three Over Four\, an occasional professor\, and a hobby percussionist. \nAaron is also a professional instructor for the American Marketing Association. Among his many engagements with the AMA\, Aaron developed and delivered a two-day course on content marketing. His firm\, speaking engagements\, teachings\, and writings are at the intersection of strategy\, creativity\, brand\, influence\, and leadership. Some call him the Gora Dhol Wallah. Aaron’s first book Leading in a Social World is a seven-time award winner.
