Copywriter – Speedway Motors

We’re seeking an experienced copywriter to help us generate traffic and boost sales across our various Ecommerce properties. In this role, you’ll create unique, informative and persuasive textual content that effectively communicates technical concepts, stimulates moods, contrasts features, and psychologically appeals to a target audience. We need you to engage our audience and elicit certain behaviors from them, depending on their purchase intent.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Write clear copy that emphasizes Speedway Motors is a partner in our customers’ passions.
-Create a story to engage the customer, building trust through product details and benefits, backed by Speedway Motors’ experience.
-Conduct research to understand our various customer groups and craft messaging that speaks to each.
-Take time to understand our growing lines of new products and how they help our customers go faster, be unique, save money, or just enjoy the ride.
-Build SEO-friendly copy that’s easy for users and search engines to understand.
-Learn about, or build upon existing knowledge of, hot rodding and street performance, classic car restoration, and dirt track racing.
-Give extra attention to detail and accuracy – we aim to please our customers the first time.

-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising/Communications/English/Journalism, or equivalent work experience.
-2+ years of experience as a copywriter in marketing/advertising communications, journalism or sales fields.
-Fluent English language skills, particularly in written format, are essential to this role.
-Must demonstrate ability to be progressive and creative within template constraints.
-Resourceful problem solver with strong research skills and extreme attention to detail.
-General awareness of the metrics used in qualifying & quantifying the effectiveness of textual content.
-Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment, but has enough self-awareness to know when occasional quiet breakout time is needed/necessary.
-Fluent in PC Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and various editing software.
-Knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems and markets a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
-Ability to rarely lift and carry <25 lbs. and rarely push/pull up to 50 lbs.
-Work may be performed while either standing or sitting at desk, thus amount of sitting and standing can be from rare to constant, dependent upon employee’s preference.
-Rare walking, bending, reaching and twisting.
-Frequent pinching, grasping and fine manipulation with fingers to use computer.
-Heated and air-conditioned indoor office work.
