Assistant Director of Recruitment – University of Nebraska College of Law
Description of Work
Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive recruitment strategy, including ongoing assessment of strategy effectiveness. Work with Admissions Team on growth of programs with key partners, including ongoing evaluation of the programs and creation and execution of improvement plan for those programs. Identify potential partnerships and develop relationships that result in the establishment of new programs focused on prospective student development and recruitment.
This team member will provide advising and counseling to prospective students considering pursuit of a legal education. They will be responsible for presenting the benefits of pursuing a law degree, and why the University of Nebraska College of Law is an ideal place to do so, to prospective students within an assigned market sector. This team member will represent the College of Law at college employment and graduate school fairs and other external events and will assist in the arrangement and organization of recruitment events and fully participate in activities sponsored by the College of Law’s Office of Admissions. This position is located on the UNL campus but extensive travel maybe required at certain points throughout the year. This position requires many nights and weekends during peak times.
In consultation with Director of Enrollment Strategy & Communication, develop promotional materials to support program recruitment activities including print, on-line, social media, and other mediums as necessary. This team member will also participate in the tracking and analyzing of recruitment data to evaluate effectiveness of recruitment strategies.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus two years experience in recruiting, public relations, student services, sales/marketing, or equivalent education/experience required. Proficient in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software platforms. Experience must demonstrate the ability to project Nebraska Law’s image in a professional, articulate manner. Candidate must possess well-developed, strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, meeting coordination and organizational skills, as well as exceptional problem-solving, attention to detail, and decision-making skills. Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities, and cultures required. Must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and complete assigned projects on time. Ability to learn new technologies required.
Juris Doctor Degree is preferred. Undergraduate and/or graduate recruitment or event planning experience is desirable. Familiarity with the College of Law, UNL, and the State of Nebraska is useful. Proficient in web content management and/or work with complex student information systems are preferred.
