Lincoln AMA Wins Accolades in National Competition

The Lincoln American Marketing Association was awarded first runner-up for the title of Chapter of the Year in the 2009-2010 Chapter Excellence Awards. Sponsored by the Professional Chapter Council of the international AMA organization, the CEA program recognizes and rewards excellence in chapter leadership and operations.

Katherine Brockman, President of the Lincoln AMA for the 2009-2010 year, stated, “It’s such an honor for our chapter to receive this award. Our 2009-2010 board worked very hard to provide our members with the value they deserve and I’m so pleased to see we ignited interest and recognition on a national level.”

Lincoln was also awarded a Continuing Excellence Award. This honor was given to chapters that have won one of the Chapter Excellence Awards for five consecutive years. Currently, only three chapters in the United States have earned the Continuing Excellence honor.

Jennifer Schultz, President of the Lincoln AMA for the 2010-2011 year also commented, “When you take into account that there are 77 AMA chapters across the United States and Canada, you quickly realize what an incredible honor these recognitions are. We have an amazing group of volunteers who have made it possible to serve the marketing community in Lincoln with nationally recognized educational programming, membership value and networking opportunities.”

The CEA program judges entrants based off of their CEA entry, which creates an invaluable historical record for the chapter that empowers future leaders to learn from and build on past success.

The Chapter of the Year honor was given to the Houston Chapter of the AMA and second runner-up was awarded to the Triangle Chapter (Raleigh, Durham and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina). Chapter of the Year honors are awarded to the three top-scoring AMA chapters.
