Julie Smith, director of donor services at the Lincoln Food Bank, is Marketer of the Month for October.
The lifelong Lincoln resident has been at the Food Bank one year. Her responsibilities include donor relations, both food and financial.
“I work closely with food companies who regularly donate to the Food Bank,” she said.
“I also drive the marketing efforts and all communications.”
Prior to the Food Bank, Smith was the marketing and communications director, as well as event planner, at Talent Plus for 10 years.
Smith is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln She shared her marketing philosophy.
“I believe that constant communication about your mission and the activities involved in driving it forward are essential to strong results,” Smith said. “With social media opportunities, it has changed how we communicate, and we are constantly looking for the best ways to reach the right audience.”
Smith is active in public art projects and volunteers for many other activities in Lincoln. She is honored to receive this award.
“I was thrilled, as I have focused my first year at the Food Bank on creating a new logo, messaging and working with community members on what they want to hear,” she said.
“It’s great to know our hard work is being recognized.”
