Kevin Sheen, director of marketing for the Lincoln Children’s Museum since January 2008, is Marketer of the Month for September. He is responsible for anything and everything that anyone sees at the Museum, outside of exhibits. He handles all advertising, public relations, media relations, signage, website, social media and marketing partnerships.
Sheen is originally from Gibbon, Nebraska. He and his wife, Elonie, have a son William and another child who is due later this month.
In regards to receiving the Marketer of the Month honor, Sheen stated, “It is definitely unexpected. I’ve sincerely tried to create quality work on behalf of the Museum, but it is still very humbling to have that work appreciated by my peers.”
Sheen is also involved in the community as a board member for NeighborWorks–Lincoln, a non-profit, community-based housing organization dedicated to community revitalization through an active partnership of resident leaders, private businesses and public officials.
“I suppose my marketing philosophy is honesty,” said Sheen. “I’ve been privileged to be a part of an organization that provides a truly positive impact for the community, by-and-large because of the support of the community. I’ve also been surrounded by a great team that is focused on creating a fun, exciting and welcoming place where families can spend quality time together enjoying the power of play. All of this means that I believe in the message that I’m attempting to convey to others, which I think brings a genuineness to what we’re doing.”
